SQCLOUD_VALUE_TYPE SQCloudVMColumnType (SQCloudVM *vm, int index);
Description
These routines return information about a single column of the current result row of a query. These functions resemble the sqlite3_column_* SQLite APIs.
Parameters
- vm: A valid VM obtained by SQCloudVMCompile.
- index: The index of the column for which information should be returned. The leftmost column of the result set has the index 0. The number of columns in the result can be determined using SQCloudVMColumnCount.
- len: The number of bytes of the returned value.
The SQCloudVMColumnType routine returns the datatype code for the initial data type of the result column. The returned value is one of following:
- VALUE_INTEGER
- VALUE_FLOAT
- VALUE_TEXT
- VALUE_BLOB
- VALUE_NULL
The return value of SQCloudVMColumnType can be used to decide which of the first five interface should be used to extract the column value. The value returned by SQCloudVMColumnType is only meaningful if no automatic type conversions have occurred for the value in question.
Example
int main (int argc, const char * argv[]) {
// setup config
SQCloudConfig config = {0};
config.username = "myusername";
config.password = "mypassword"
SQCloudConnection *conn = SQCloudConnect("myproject.sqlite.cloud", SQCLOUD_DEFAULT_PORT, &config);
if (SQCloudIsError(conn)) {
printf("ERROR connecting: %s (%d)\n", SQCloudErrorMsg(conn), SQCloudErrorCode(conn));
return -1;
} else {
printf("Connection to host OK...\n\n");
}
// choose a database first
SQCloudResult *r = SQCloudExec(conn, "USE DATABASE mydatabase.sqlite;");
// compile the SQL statement
SQCloudVM *vm = SQCloudVMCompile(conn, "SELECT * FROM table1 LIMIT1;", -1, NULL);
// execute the query
SQCloudStep(vm);
// retrieve columns
int count = SQCloudVMColumnCount(vm);
for (int i=0; i<count; ++i) {
SQCLOUD_VALUE_TYPE type = SQCloudVMColumnType(vm, i);
switch(type) {
case VALUE_INTEGER: {
int64_t value = SQCloudVMColumnInt64(vm, i);
break;
}
case VALUE_FLOAT: {

}
case VALUE_TEXT: {
uint32_t len = 0;
const char *value = SQCloudVMColumnText(vm, i, &len);
break;
}
case VALUE_BLOB: {

const void *value = SQCloudVMColumnBlob(vm, i, &len);
break;
}
case VALUE_NULL: {
void *value = NULL;
}
}
}
